The 2025 AI Index covers calendar year 2024 across eight chapters — research, technical performance, responsible AI, the economy, science and medicine, policy, education, and public opinion. Models excel at tasks like International Mathematical Olympiad problems but still struggle with reasoning benchmarks like PlanBench.
